Cayos Cochinos is a natural paradise in Honduras preserved as a Marine National Monument. Snorkel and sightsee on this boat tour of the islands. The Cayos Cochinos or Cochinos Cays consist of two small islands and 13 smaller coral cays situated 30 km northeast of La Ceiba on the northern shores of Honduras.
The coral reef is part of the second largest coral reef in the world, known as the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. There is a scientific research station on Cayo Menor, the smaller of the two main islands in the system.

7:00 am The tour to Cayos Cochinos begins from LaCeiba to Centro
Turistico Sambo Creek in the Garifuna Community of Sambo Creek
(distance 25 min. from La Ceiba).
7:45 am We board boats that are properly equipped with 2 motors, canopies for sun protection, seat backrests, a crew of captains,experienced guides to lead us to Cayos Cochinos.
8:35 am During the boat ride we make our first stop at Bolaños Cay´s
fishing station, here we can enjoy the palm trees, white sandy beaches and swim in crystal clear turquoise water.
9:30 am We continue our journey towards Cayo Menor The Cayos Cochinos Foundation´s Research Station, where there is a brief chat and an informative video about the Marine Natural Monument.
10:00 am We leave and go around the Cayo Menor, until we find a
spectacular cay´s beaches, where we can do snorkeling and swim), then continue with our adventure on a hike on a trail in search of the endémic species of the Cayos Cochinos island chain: the pink boa constrictor.
11:40 am Later pass by both cays; Chachahuate Cay No. 1 and to the Chachahuate Cay No. 2 making a stop at the Chachahuate No. 1
1:45 pm we sail back to the Sambo Creek Resorts ending in La Ceiba City at about 3:30 pm.
