HONDURAS INFORMATION
Honduras is located in the heart of Central America.
The country covers 112,482 square kms and is about the size of Tennessee
or Virginia. It has 3 borders, the western with Guatemala, the southwest
with El Salvador and the east with Nicaragua. To the North lies
the Caribbean Sea and to the South the Pacific Ocean.
The population of Honduras is estimated at seven million inhabitants.
Spanish is the official language of Honduras. English is spoken
in most tourist areas.

Entering Honduras requires a valid passport. You can enter and stay
30 days in Honduras without a visa if you have a USA, Canadian or
most European country passport.
The Lempira is the official currency of Honduras.

diverse areas are home to over 10,000 vascular plants.

La Ceiba is regarded as the Ecotourism capital of
Honduras. It is also regarded as one of the most vibrant cities
in Central America and is home to the largest carnival in the region,
which is held annually in May.
Pico Bonito National Park the second largest national park in Honduras is located minutes from downtown and adjoins Las Cascadas Lodge.
La Ceiba. It covers an area of 1073 square kilometers
and reaches a height of 2436 meters. Due to its vast size and range
of elevations it is one of the most naturally diverse areas in Central
America.
