Honduras produces an ENOURMOUS amount of coffee!
Coffee productions total 380,296 US tons per year.  7th place overall in global coffee production!

Since 2011 Honduras' magical java bean growers continue to be Central America's biggest producers!

Our friend Leticia from Luma’s Coffee has been supplying coffee to Las Cascadas Lodge and the surrounding area for the past two years. A bag of coffee helps your luggage smell nice as well as is the perfect gift for a pet sitter or a loved one back at home!

Luma’s Coffee is what we serve at Las Cascadas Lodge. A great compliment to waking up and enjoying the waterfall views. The falls are visible from EVERY room!

Leticia and her family have been in the coffee trade for several generations. Their finca (farm) is in San Luis/Santa Barbara, Honduras on 10 acres of lush land mixed with orange and mandarin trees.

Coffee is best grown at elevations over 4000 feet. Lety's family also grow maize, plantains, and red beans. They are able to produce about 2000 pounds of organic coffee a year!

Leticia delivers to various resorts and hotels in the area and we also offer bags of whole bean or pre-ground for sale at Las Cascadas Lodge for $5 a bag.

Coffee is harvested at Leticia's family farm from November to January. It is then roasted and then carefully stored for the coming year.

Leticia and Maddy talk about Honduran women in the coffee trade, small family farms, and the effects of two hurricanes on the land and people.
